Hop on the train and head on over to Citi Field in Queens, home of the New York Mets. Since its opening in 2009, Citi Field has been an exceptional place for baseball games, legendary concerts, local sporting events, and family fun entertainment. Named as one of the top 100 venues in sports, this 41,900 seat stadium’s design echoes former legendary stadiums like Ebbets Field and Polo Grounds. Citi Field also pays homage to the Mets former home stadium, Shea Stadium. Located next to the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, visitors and Mets fans can revisit the team’s history at The Mets Hall of Fame and Museum. It also hosts non-game events in and outside of its gates, its large parking lot is often used for many festivals and events alike.
The stadium’s neighbor, the multicomplex USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center hosts the annual US Open. Nearby Flushing Meadows Corona Park is also the home of the New York Hall of Science, Queens Museum, and the Queens Zoo. So take a trip into Queens, and you’ll surely discover a whole new side to New York City.
