Queens County Farm Museum
Enjoy Country Life in the Big Apple

Queens County Farm Museum
Historic colonial farmhouse offers 47 acres of sustainable lands, plus educational programs & tours.

As the NYC’s largest tract of undisturbed farmland, the Queens County Farm Museum is a great place to visit for country life in the city. It is located in the Queens’ neighborhood of Glen Oaks and Floral Park. This working farm includes restored farm buildings, fields, and livestock on its 47 acres of land. The origins of the farm can be traced back to 1697 when the farm was originally owned by the Dutch family, the Adriances. In 1976 the farm became a NYC landmark. And in 1975 the ownership transferred to the NYC Department of Parks so that it could become a museum.

With a tranquil environment and farm animals, the Queens County Farm Museum provides a calm rural environment away from the city. You can take a stroll around the farm and then feed the goats. Animals at the farm include cattle, chicken, pigs, goats, and honeybees. Learn about how these animals live. The farm also has heritage breeds of livestock that are in danger of disappearing, and their goal is to preserve these historic animals.

Events at the Queens County Farm Museum are as unique and colorful as the plants that grow there. Shop at the Seasonal Farmstand and learn about sustainable produce. Get lost in the seasonal corn maze and pick up a pumpkin too!
