Greenpoint

Little Poland and Parks

Right above Williamsburg, this northern Brooklyn neighborhood is a haven for artists and working professionals.
It is particularly close to Queens’ Long Island City. Known for possessing the second largest population of Polish-Americans in the United States, the neighborhood is referred as “Little Poland.”
Its Historic District achieved landmark status in 1983 (it was formerly an industrial locale).
Today, Greenpoint is the location of two New York City parks, one of which is McCarren Park- the neighborhood’s largest green space. There is also the more intimate McGolrick Park, where visitors can find a winged monument dedicated to 150 local residents who served in World War I.
