The historical Wyckoff farmhouse in the Canarsie area of Brooklyn is located in Milton Fidler Park. The house was one of several ordered to be by built by Dutchman Wouter Van Twiller. The house is estimated to have been built in 1638, making it the oldest surviving example of a Dutch saltbox frame house in America. The majority of the current structure was added in the 19th century, with only two small sections dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. It’s a must-visit off the beaten path for any history lover.
