The Victorian Gardens is an old-fashioned amusement park that was built in Central Park in 2003. The amusement park’s designers intended for it to complement Central Park’s historic architecture.
Due to the small space, the Victorian Gardens offer a controlled, safe environment for families and children to interact. Parents can rest easy as their kids experience the simple pleasures of an amusement park. Parents can also participate in any of the rides as they accommodate adults of all sizes as well. Most of the rides, however, are geared for children and kids under the age of 12.
The amusement park contains just over a dozen handcrafted rides and games. Among the featured attractions are the famed Rainbowheel, Family Swing, Samba Balloon, Rockin’ Tug, Aeromax, Barnyard, and the Kite Flyer.
The Rainbowheel is a ferris wheel whose cars are suspended by rainbow-colored hot air balloons. It whirls and twirls in the air and offers scopes of the surrounding area at various heights. Kids can also choose to explore heights on hovering airplanes aboard the Aeromax. Another ride that offers a flight experience is the Kite Flyer.
Smaller children can enjoy rides like Bigfoot, Happy Swing, Grand Prix, Mini Mouse, and Jump Around. Happy Swing allows children to experience the joy of a simple playground swing with their friends. Though it is much larger than a regular swing and accommodates more people, the motions are the same. Mini Mouse is a miniature roller coaster that takes passengers on thrilling turns and escalating speeds.
The park also offers a convenient unlimited-ride-wristband option. Also among the rides are the games. Rising Water and Whac-a-Mole are the leading games. Rising Water allows participants to shoot water into a clown’s mouth. The person who gets the water to the top fastest wins a prize. Whac-a-Mole encourages users to hit as many targets as possible in order to win a prize.
Regardless of the reason anyone comes to this amusement park, everyone will certainly find something they enjoy. Check the website for operating times, as the Victorian Gardens is open seasonally!
