The New York Road Runners was pioneered by Ted Corbitt in 1952. As one of the leading non-profit organizations for runners, it has created many programs dedicated to track and field. For over 59 years, the organization has used its goals with a mission to help and inspire people through running in New York City’s five boroughs. It has created events, races, local outreach programs, and youth programs to inspire runners of the future. In addition, NYRR is the main organizer for the New York City Marathon.
