Six Weeks Only!

Following a 20-city tour and an acclaimed PBS special, the international music sensation ROCKTOPIA will rock Broadway for six weeks, March 20 – April 29, 2018 at The Broadway Theatre. Featuring five world-class vocalists, The New York Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, an electrifying rock band, and a 30-person choir, ROCKTOPIA is an epic musical and multimedia event that fuses the most iconic 20th-Century rock with world-renowned classical compositions. The anthems of Queen and Journey meet the odes of Beethoven. The power of Zeppelin merges with the poetry of Puccini. The greatness of The Who blends with the grandeur of Strauss. This is the one-of-a-kind sound of ROCKTOPIA.

With extensive knowledge of both classical and classic rock genres, vocalist and recording artist Rob Evan and Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer created completely original, spine-tingling musical arrangements by matching themes, potency, and emotional resonance in the songs before fusing them together. “There are so many parallels between the genres and between the “rock stars” who composed and performed this music,” says Evan. “Mozart lived like a rock star, and if he was alive, he would probably utilize the technology we have now. When Stravinsky wrote ‘The Rite of Spring,’ it was so controversial, people rioted!”
The groundbreaking live concert will be performed by a celebrated, diverse array of rock, Broadway, pop and opera vocalists: Rob Evan (Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde; multi-platinum recording artist); Chloe Lowery (Trans-Siberian Orchestra); Tony Vincent (American Idiot, RENT, NBC’s “The Voice”); Kimberly Nichole (NBC’s “The Voice,” Janelle Monae, Slash, Joe Walsh); and Alyson Cambridge (The Merry Widow at The Met, Madame Butterfly, La Boheme). The world-class musicians featured in the ROCKTOPIA band include Grammy and Emmy Award nominated violinist Máiréad Nesbitt (Celtic Woman, Lord of the Dance) and acclaimed guitarist Tony Bruno (MD & guitar for Enrique Iglesias & Rihanna, “America’s Got Talent”).
