Planet Hollywood is a restaurant chain themed after the movies, stars, and history of Hollywood cinema. Its founding in 1991 was assisted with the backing of a number of Hollywood titans — including Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, and Sylvester Stallone. Although the business has expanded internationally since its 1991 founding, its original restaurant is here in New York.
Inside the restaurant, you’ll immediately notice its decor. The colors are loud and vibrant, props hang from the ceiling and walls, TVs show off Hollywood classics… and yes, the carpet is red. What’s more, its props aren’t just gimmicks. Most of them are legitimate Hollywood memorabilia ranging from classic films to modern blockbusters. Among them: planes from Top Gun and Independence Day, and props/costumes from Terminator, Hunger Games, and Austin Powers. In the presence of so much movie history, a meal at Planet Hollywood doubles as a visit to a museum.
The menu consists of typical American fare. Among the offerings are various burgers, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. In addition, desserts, milkshakes and a kid’s menu are available as well. Planet Hollywood offers a unique dining experience, and will certainly make for a memorable meal with family and friends.
