The North River Lobster is open from late spring until September. It is a three-deck boat in Hell’s Kitchen that serves some of the best New England fare in town. It prides itself, in fact, on being the biggest “floating lobster shack” along the Hudson River. The shack is owned by New York Cruise Lines.
The boat, formerly a privately chartered vessel, was renovated into the North River Company in 2014 and has a capacity of 450. Food and drink spans the gamut from fresh seafood dishes to cocktails to raw bar delights. With each order, a sail is included.
The cruise encourages all passengers to enjoy its lobster delicacies and also witness breathtaking sites of New York City. Diners can join in on the fun four times a day. Though the concept is elaborate, visitors can stop by for a quick lunch or a fancy dinner. The North River Lobster also offers happy hour specials for those who fancy lobster at that time.
