Manhattan By Sail
The Clipper was originally build before the Civil War, it has since then been restored and refurbished. It received its name from the shipyard it was built in Maintowoc, Wisconsin, a town that had a growing reputation for its shipbuilding and therefore was refereed to as “Clipper City”. The ship is 158 feet long and 120 feet tall and can host 130 people, this is the most of any passenger sailboat in the United States.
The second ship is the Shearwater Classic Schooner, a classic Newport-style yacht, and is since 2009 recognized as a national landmark. It was part of the War Shipping Administration and became a member of the US Coast Guard’s Picket Patrol during WWII.These two classical tours sail daily from Battery Park providing the possibility to see the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline in a unique way. As well as special tours that depart a few times each week, these include the lobster and Beer lovers sail, craft beer tasting sail, jazz sail, champagne brunch sail and many more.
