Heartland Brewery first opened its doors in 1995, introducing an American-style brewpub in the heart of New York City. The first location was in Union Square. Heartland became the brewery that established and influenced the culture of beer drinking in New York City. Therefore, it pioneered the craft beer movement within the most popular city in the world.
Since its establishment, Heartland has maintained the reputation of brewing the city’s finest and most popular craft beers. Today, Heartland maintains a selection of six classic brews and an even wider range of seasonal brews.
It is custom at Heartland for brewers to use distinctly American ingredients to create their signature beer recipes. For example, the ingredients include things like Wisconsin malt, hops from Oregon, and American yeast. In combination, these ingredients make Heartland’s beer taste distinctly different from German or British beers. All beers are made and served fresh within one or two weeks of brewing.
