Gulliver’s Gate

Discovering the Rest of the World
Gulliver's Gate
A 50,000-Square-Foot Miniature World in New York City.

Gulliver’s Gate in Times Square features miniature replicas of various cities and attractions around the world in a 50,000 square foot setting. Gulliver’s Gate describes itself as a “unique and playful interpretation of the real world in miniature.”

Upon entrance, visitors receive a lanyard and a key that they can use to operate model cars and trains along their path. Visitors also receive a complimentary map that helps guide them “around the world.” One of the premises behind the installation of Gulliver’s Gate is connectivity between the past, present, and future. As a result, visitors can create their own imprint in any of the miniature replicas at Gulliver’s Gate. This allows them to become a part of the permanent collection. Gulliver’s encourages visitors to participate in this step because it demonstrates for future guests who came before them.

Gulliver’s Gate features buildings and sites are carefully constructed and replicated by master craftsmen. For example, visitors can easily explore the Seven Wonders of the World or even carefully observe New York City. An engineer-developed GPS system controls various moving forms of transportation, such as planes, cars, ships, and trains. These forms of transportation allow visitors to witness how they operate within the society they belong to.
