As stated on the shows website, “Afterglow” is a raw play exploring the emotional, intellectual, and physical connections between three men and the broader implications within their relationships.
The play is centered around Josh and Alex, two men in a polyamorous relationship. At this point in their lives, they are no strangers to having people join them between their bedsheets, but when Darius enters the picture, Josh and Alex are forced to question their relationship. Darius starts spending more time with one of the men, bringing feelings of jealousy and betrayal into the relationship. This only makes Josh and Alex question themselves more, posing the question: Can this relationship between any of them be possible??
Did we mention that Josh and Alex have a baby on the way? This makes matters worse. Josh comes from money and is fathering the couple’s first child through a surrogate. The new intimate connection between the three men forces them all to come to terms with their individual definitions of love, loyalty, and trust as futures are questioned, relationships are shaken, and commitments are challenged.
