Your Guide To 2019 Pride

All the festivities that you must check out this year during Pride month.

Every year, New York City makes sure it has a good time during Pride month. From sports events all the way to the cinema, let’s take a look at some of the fun events that will be going on this year.

1.) Bloomingdale’s Pride For All Carousel 


Location: Bloomingdale’s flagship location at 1000 3rd Avenue, 59th Street and Lexington Ave. and Bloomingdale’s Soho location at 504 Broadway, New York NY

Date: Thursday, May 9th- Monday, July 8th

Bloomingdale’s is hosting its “Pride For All” Carousel at its 59th Street and Soho stores. The carousel is a rotating pop-up shop that is driven by culturally relevant themes, with merchandise that is hand-selected by guest curators, and brought to life by activations and events. The guest curator this year will be Phillip Picardi, editor in chief of Out Magazine.

The Carousel will feature Pride merchandise, a Pride edition of Bloomingdales’ famous “Little Brown Bag,” product from queer designers and a t-shirt capsule collection with Opening Ceremony and Housing Works. Don’t forget to check out the Visitors Center at the 59th Street store or the 2nd Floor b helpful desk at the Soho store to ask about special visitors savings, they’re available at both locations!

At the 59th Street location, be sure to take advantage of the great concierge services such as foreign language assistance, coat and package check, and complimentary hotel package delivery for all qualifying purchases.


2.) Outcinema


Location: SVA Theatre, 333 West Street, New York NY

Date: Monday, June 17, 2019 – Wednesday, June 19th, 2019

This is a three-night event that will be the starter of a very pride-oriented week of fun activities for New York City’s  LGBTQIA+ crowd.  With its first debut back in 2016, OutCinema projects inspirational stories and plans to bring together queer audiences for three amazing nights of films, Q&As, and even some afterparties.


3.) Cosplay & Pride


Location: Pier 40, 353 West Street, New York NY

Date: Saturday, June 22nd, 2019, 6-10 P.M.

Brought to you by Geeks Out, all noble superheroes, and evil villains are invited as NYCPride gathers its LGBTQIA+ community to completely nerd out this year once again at Cosplay and Pride.  Dress up as your favorite hero or villain and come join the party. Consider this your own personal LGBTQIA+ Comic Con!


4.) Rally: Stonewall 50 Commemoration


Location: Christopher Street and Waverly Place

Date: Friday, June 28th, 2019

Come take a stand as many gather between at Washington Square Park between Christopher Street and Waverly Place to fight the segregation against the LGBTQIA+ community and protect gay power, just as it did back in June of 1969. There will be a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square.


5.) Savor Pride


Location: 166 6th Ave., New York NY

Date: Friday, June 28th, 6-10 PM

This culinary event has truly become a tradition in Pride NYC. Brought to you by the wonderful people at God’s Love We Deliver, LGBTQIA+ chefs will be stationed outside at the grounds of the beautiful community of people that stands today. A networking recession will follow a brief Q&A after the event.


6.) Garden Party

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual Center

Location: 208 West 13th Street, New York NY

Date: Monday, June 24th, 2019, 6-10 PM

Down at the LGBT Community Center is where can find this rather green event.  Chefs Lisa Fernandez (Sweet Chili), Ash Fulk (Hill Country BBQ) and Allison Kave (Butter & Scotch) will be curating a lovely group of restaurants that distribute tasty food with a fabulous stamp of world pride!

7.) Chelsea Challenge 2019


Location: Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers 61 Chelsea Piers, New York NY

Date: Friday, June 21st-Sunday, June 23rd, 2019

Hosted by The New York City Gay Hockey Association, this LGBTQIA-friendly event is a hockey tournament open to people of all ages. All registered skaters will have the advantage of social events and a tournament banquet. Grab your hockey mask, your pads, your favorite Wayne Gretzky jersey and come join the fun.


8.) Pride Island


Location: Pier 97 59th Street and West Highway

Date: Saturday, June 29th, 2-10 PM, Sunday, June 30th, 2-11 PM

Gracie Jones, Teyana Taylor, and Pabllo Vittar are just among a few famous and sought-after names that will be performing at this annual musical event. This is an all weekend event due to be filled with excellent artists and lights and sounds indulged in every color of the rainbow.
