Located right at the tip of the south of Manhattan lies Battery Park (also known as The Battery). It is an incredibly large public park of about 25 acres. The Battery is surrounded by many different things, such as parks, bikeways, and there is also a community complex (Battery Park City) located to the north of the park.
The park also contains several monuments and memorials: The American Merchant Mariners’ Memorial, The Eagle Statue, The John Ericsson statue and much more. Battery Park within itself has has various parks such as: Rockefeller Park, Kowsky Plaza, Rector Park and much more – all located within this enormously incredible space!
