Easter in New York City brings flower shows, beautiful bonnets, egg hunts, and…battling bunnies?? You heard correctly, this is NYC after all, home to everything you could ever want, and Easter weekend finds the city full of activities for children and grown-ups alike! Take a look at our list for some ideas on how to spend Easter Weekend in NYC.

Full Bunny Contact
This wacky week of events puts an adult spin on all of your favorite Easter activities including an obstacle course egg race, an egg toss, a sumo bunny wrestling hour and the main event: a cage match egg hunt where two people inside of a steel cage must dodge three large demon bunnies set on stealing your prized eggs. Terrifying, yes, but awesome. May the best bunny win. Although this event is mostly for adults there are select Family Hours throughout the week including a temper tantrum contest to reward the most badly behaved kids with lots of candy.

Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival
A New York City tradition dating back to the 1870s, this spectacular parade and festival marches down Fifth Avenue between 49th and 57th Street Sunday morning starting at 10am. Each year participants show off their finest Easter bonnets as they parade down the street, and in true NYC fashion some of the displays are absolutely larger than life! Snag a spot along the route or don your Sunday best and join in!

The Amazing Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt
This wild event takes your typical Easter egg hunt to a whole new level, replacing your grandma’s backyard with New York City! Broken into two hunts, one for kids and another for adults, put on your bunny ears, beat obstacles, and solve clues with your team that take you all over the city using a handy dandy app. Winners receive a NYC gift package of tickets to Quiet Clubbing, Shake Rattle and Roll, and more!

Easter in Prospect Park
Enjoy the blossoming of spring in beautiful Prospect Park this weekend with a full schedule of outdoor events. Attend free classes on the various wildlife in Prospect Park then head over to Lefferts Historic House to participate in sack races, spoon races, and other games good for the whole family. For a real treat, be the first of the year to take a ride on the Park’s cherished 1912 carousel, opening back up for the season this weekend!

Macy’s Flower Show
Celebrate the beauty of a new season at the annual Macy’s Flower Show, which officially opened to the public last weekend. The theme this year is “America the Beautiful,” and the flowers chosen will represent the varied landscape of the U.S.A. and the plants indigenous to each area.

The Amazing Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt
Go on a self-guided tour of the wonderful Bronx Zoo this weekend for a different kind of egg hunt where you’ll seek out all the animals who lay eggs to collect stamps to win a prize! You can also stop by the Dancing Crane Pavilion to make your own hat or mask to wear in the Endangered Species Hat Parade.
