The Grand Army Plaza was originally known as the Prospect Park Plaza and it consists of concentric oval rings arranged as streets.

Originally the plaza was the battleground for the Battle of Long island, this was the first battle of the American Revolution. The plaza is today still filled with history. Here you will find the Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Arch, the Bailey Fountain, the John F. Kennedy Monument, statues of the Civil War generals Couverner K. Warren and Henry Warner Slocum, two 12-sided gazebos with Tuscan columns, Gustavino vaulting, busts of important Brooklyn citizens such as Henry W. Maxwell and Alexander J.C Skene, and bronze finials.
