Brooklyn Cyclones
Coney Island's Very Own Team

Brooklyn Cyclones new york

Just next door to the beaches and attractions of Coney Island and Luna Park, the Brooklyn Cyclones brought minor league baseball into Brooklyn. As an official Short A classified minor league team, the Cyclones are an affiliate team with the New York Mets. In 2001, the team moved to their home Keyspan Park (now MCU Ballpark) and became the Brooklyn Cyclones. The team’s name pays tribute to historic Coney Island rollercoaster, the Cyclone. In the team’s history, they’ve made playoffs eight times with five division titles won.

A great place for baseball fans and families, MCU Ballpark brings all-around entertainment for for all ages around. With 7,000 seats and 2,500 places for standing room, Cyclones and baseball fans can watch a home game at the ballpark with appearance of the team’s mascots Sandy the Seagull and Pee Wee. In recent times, the ballpark has become home to the North American Soccer League, the New York Cosmos. The team is the 2016 NASL Sugar Bowl champion, additionally winning two other championships in 2013 and 2015.

In addition to being home for the Brooklyn Cyclones, MCU Ballpark is host to local school baseball games, sporting events, concerts, and boxing matches. During their season, the New York University Violets play their home games at the stadium. The ballpark also hosts occasional games from the Baruch College team and local high schools.

For music fans coming to MCU Ballpark, the stadium has held a few world class concerts of its own. From international electronic artists Bjork and Daft Punk to legendary hip hop artist Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, the concerts offer entertainment for all.
